he/him
Roland is investigating whether better understanding mussel and benthic macroinvertebrate communities can enhance the conservation and restoration of freshwater mussel species in the Lower Great Lakes. His research forms part of our Canada Nature Fund for Aquatic Species at Risk work in the Sydenham River watershed, partnering with the Saint Clair Region Conservation Authority and the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada. Roland’s research interests are focused around using community ecology knowledge to better inform successful freshwater management and restoration, and he is currently completing his MSc remotely from New Zealand.
