BIOL-4904/ESCI-4900 - Offered Yearly

The Undergraduate Honours Thesis Course covers two terms (fall-winter) where students conduct their very own research projects. With the help of current graduate students, Healthy Headwaters Staff, and Dr. Catherine Febria as a supervisor, the honours thesis course is one of the best experiential learning opportunities offered at the University of Windsor.

Course Activities:

  • Attend monthly thesis classes to learn about experimental design and the research process

  • Submit a 1-page NSERC style research proposal

  • Work 10 hours a week on thesis research (field/lab work, literature review, writing)

  • Present project at a conference (UWill Discover & Ontario Biology Day)

  • Submit a final written thesis at the end of the course

  • Manuscript submissions to academic journals encouraged

**Undergraduate students in Biology or Environmental studies interested in pursuing the Undergraduate thesis course option should contact Dr. Febria well in advance (two-three terms ahead of the course).
