Streams of the Anthropocene

Streams of the Anthropocene is a mini-documentary following the undergraduate thesis research (2021) of Shayenna Nolan as she conducts biological monitoring in Windsor-Essex, Ontario. Manuscript coming soon details the effectiveness of cotton strip decomposition, benthic macroinvertebrates, and dissolved organic matter quality on detecting human impacts in streams.

Shayenna Nolan

Shayenna is the Director of Communications for the Healthy Headwaters Lab as well as a PhD student. She is currently researching carbon and microbes in settler and Indigenous landscapes across the Great Lakes Basin.
