HHL x Ojibway Nature Centre: Our Ojibway Nature Centre Colouring Book

 
 

On April 22nd, 2022 HHL launched our Ojibway Nature Centre Colouring Book illustrated by Mariah Alexander - Baashkooniingad Kwe, which means “buds on the tree beginning to open woman” -, an Indigenous artist from Bkejwanong.

This project was a partnership between the Ojibway Nature Centre and HHL’s Ode’imin circle; to re-introduce Indigenous knowledge and art to the Ojibway Nature Centre. Through this colouring book, Mariah’s art, and the inclusion of Anishinaabe words, HHL hopes this colouring book will help fill the gap in Indigenous Knowledge, and introduce a new generation to the rich Indigenous culture found in Windsor.

The colouring book is currently available for download in its full form or as individual sheets on HHL’s Open Access Pubs page. Donations to the Artist are welcome; a QR code is included on the first page of each individual sheet or on the final page of the full colouring book that links to Mariah’s PayPal.
