What is a watershed?

A watershed is a spatial area where all water and precipation that falls within its bounds eventually join together in a single lake or river.

This post is part of a series of creative works featuring original photography, videography, animation, and graphic design by Shayenna Nolan titled “Windsor Watersheds”.

Windsor Watersheds was created with the goal of empowering Windsor-Essex residents to understand the issues facing our watersheds today. Designed for social media, the series is currently in the process of being posted on our HHL channels to educate and engage community members.

Shayenna is the Director of Communications for the Healthy Headwaters Lab as well as a PhD student. She is currently researching carbon and microbes in settler and Indigenous landscapes across the Great Lakes Basin.
